Literally!
This beautiful piece is installed in the ceiling!
We were approached to come up with an idea for a kitchen ceiling
in a home that was undergoing an extensive kitchen remodel.
The homeowners wanted the idea to represent "looking outside" and
to include birds and flowers and a color pallet for the sky from a photo they had taken.
Well, this is what we developed and created.
The glass is approxately 6 and a half feet long and 28 inches in
width.
It is installed in a custom design and built "light soffit" that
is over the island. The cabinet guys did a fabulous job here.
The stained glass is resting on a piece of clear laminated
glass and together both pieces of glass are surrounded by cherry wood. All together this weighed "a ton".
Just kidding but it is rather heavy and is supported with heavy duty custom hardware.
