Located in one of the most popular locations in the Great
Smoky Mountains, Cades Cove, the Abrams Falls Trail can be busy, as can the falls on a warm day, but get around the crowds
and you see one of the most beautiful falls in the park. Since Abrams Creek drains all of Cades Cove, even when the
water is scarce elsewhere, this falls puts on an impressive show!

Remember what I said about the crowd! Well, here it is!

Unfortunately, it is "up hill" leaving the falls. Watch your step on the roots and rocks!

Being thoughtful as we allow others to head downhill past us!
Cades Cove can get a bit busy and unfortunately there are some
very unthoughtful drivers out there who will not pull over and let others go past. Thankfully, for those who know
the area, there are a few little known "jewels" of roads that are less traveled. This photo is from one of those
one way "dirt tracks". Yes, remember, we have a Jeep!

Cades Cove from Rich Mountain Road.
There is absolutely nothing that will stop traffic quicker in the Great
Smoky Mountains than a bear sighting. This guy didn't give us a second thought as he crossed the road. Randy
happened to see him above the road and stopped. We have one other "Jeep" family that came along and got to enjoy this
very rare special glimpse at one of the shy and beautiful creatures.
